Fish Swimming In the WaterAll the fish are swimming in the water, swimming in the water, swimming in the water. All the fish are swimming in the water. Bubble, bubble, bubble, bubble, splash! (We change the fish to other ocean creatures and move around the circle in a variety of ways. At the end we sit back on our squares and bubble with our feet and point our feet to the ceiling on the word splash.) |
Let's Be FriendsLet’s be friends with one another (sing 3X) Let’s be friends today. (This next section we do as an echo song) You can share with a friend. (echo) You can dance with a friend. (echo) You can jump with a friend. (echo) Let’s be friends today. (We then sing the first two lines again together and then the children offer suggestions about what else they can do with a friend.) |
Join The CircleCome join in the circle There’s room for everyone. Come join in the circle There’s room for everyone. Clapping in the circle Clap, clap, everyone. Clapping in the circle Clapping everyone. (We then sing the first four lines again, then change the action until all our friends are over at circle) |
Chant for BabyNow’s the time to go to sleep. Put the baby in the bed. (Put your index finger-the baby-in the opposite palm)Cover the baby in the bed. (Wrap your fingers around the baby)And kiss the baby goodnight! (Kiss your hand)(The baby pops out of bed at the end and we try to think of what the baby needs and we add that need to the song after the third line. By the end of the song we have to remember the sequence of everything the baby needs.) |
Poems
"S" PoemSix little snowmen all made of snow, Each has a hat and a bright red bow, Out came the sun and it shone all day, One little snowman melted away. Five little snowmen…..

Choosing Appropriate Snacks
At Nutfield, we care about the food that goes into the bodies of our students. We really want them to be the best they can be. On your co-op day, you need to prepare and bring snack. We provide plates, napkins, and water, the best hydrator. We would like your cooperation in providing healthy and appropriate food for our class. Please include your child in the snack decision and preparation, and doing this a day or two in advance will help this to go smoothly! To further help you in providing snack, we offer the following guidelines. We provide plates, napkins, and water, the best hydrator.
Snack should consist of two items, the first being a prepared fruit or vegtable. Some suggestions would be:
Fruits
- apples (which can be sliced using an apple wedger we provide at school)
- bananas
- melon wedges
- peach halves
- raisins
- berries
- halved grapes
- fruit or applesauce cups
- pineapple chunks
Veggies
(with or without veggie dip)- carrot sticks
- cucumber slices
- red pepper sticks
- broccoli pieces
The second snack item should come consist of a protein or whole grain food. Some suggestions would be:
- peanut butter (to go with apples or bananas)
- mini muffins (corn, blueberry, apple, etc.)
- small rice cakes
- small bagels
- peanut butter and jelly sandwich halves (this covers both food groups and could be a snack by itself)
- small yogurt cups or push ups
- whole wheat crackers
- whole grain cereal (cherrios, frosted mini-wheats, etc.)
Please do not bring nuts or popcorn because these items present a choking hazard. Also, be sure to check the Classroom page for any food allergies present in the class.
Some families want to send in something special on their child’s birthday , which is fine. If you decide to do this, your child will be able to give these out at the end of the day so please wrap cupcake/cookie individually and arrive for pick up a little early to help your child give them out as the children leave.
There are, of course, other healthy snacks not listed above. Use your own good judgment or feel free to run an idea by Mrs. Dionne.

Spontaneous dancing .. .ring around the rosy...

Reading Under the Trees! We were on the playgroud when it started to sprinkle, so we hid under some thick trees to wait it out. Suzanne ran in and fetched the book we had been reading, then we read and laughed a lot to "Who Hops" until the rain stopped and we went back to play.
