Summer Programs 2007

This year our summer programs give you two different options: two-day programs and one-day programs.

You may sign up for any combination of programs. Enrollment is limited and will be on a first come first serve basis. Payment is due at registration. No refunds. We reserve the right to cancel a program if enrollment is not sufficient, in which case refunds will be made.

Snack is provided. Students bring lunch for all but the cooking program.

Two-Day Programs

Circus - $50

circusDate: June 4th & 5th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM

Calling all circus lovers. Come and help us put on the greatest show on Earth! Students will make circus costumes, perform circus acts, make circus food, and then put on the big show for their families. This show should not be missed!

Rainbows - $50

rainbowDates: June 6th & 7th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM

Discover a rainbow. Many objects shine the colors of a rainbow. Learn the colors of the rainbow. Please bring a clean white tee shirt on which to make a rainbow.

Art - $50

artistDates: June 13th & 14th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM

Do you like to paint? If you do this class is for you. Students will experience the joys of painting with marbles, string, and many other methods. The children will paint still lifes, portraits and even abstract art! Come and join us as we explore the wonderful world of art!

The Senses - $50

Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children

Come explore and experience the five senses with your friends. Enjoy seeing, feeling, smelling, hearing and touching activities .

Creative Storytelling - $50

storyDate: June 19th and 20th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM

Come and create stories: dictating, writing, and illustrating. Then act out your story. Everyone will go home with a collection of their stories and stories by their friends.

Mud - $50

MUDDates: June 25th & 26th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM
Staff: Kim Vincent and helper

Come sing the glories of MUD, play with mud, make mud, paint with mud, explore the properties of mud! Great fun in the summer.

Woodworking - $50

woodDates: June 27th & 28th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM

We will use simple tools (hand drill, hammer, saw, vice, screwdrivers, etc.) to create some wood projects, one of which will be a vehicle.

Play in a Day & 1 - $50

Calling all thespians! In this program the children will design a set and costumes for a familiar story. They will practice the play and present it to the parents on the last day.

  

One-Day Programs

Nutfield Olympics - $30

olympicsDates: June 6th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM

Come celebrate the Summer Olympics with us! Participate in an opening ceremony. Compete in various events: the discus, Javelin throwing, shot put, volleyball, relay races, long jump, and hurdles. At the closing ceremonies everyone will be presented with a Nutfield Olympic Medal.

Hike to Humphrey Playground - $30

Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9-1

We will be making trail mix for our hike. Along the way we will be exploring with magnifying glasses, looking for vernal pools, listening and looking for wildlife. We will end with playground fun, including a scavenger hunt.
All students should bring a backpack to carry their lunch in. Parents will pick their children up at the playground. Please apply sunscreen/insect repellent at home.

Horsing Around - $35

Ages: 5-6, maximum 15 children
Time: 9 AM - 12 PM

This program will be held at Greenwood Stables on 2 Frost Rd. in Derry. The children will learn the basics about horses, safety, how to clean a stall, what horses eat, equipment, basic parts of a horse, grooming and a ride of your own! The children will also make a horseshoe picture frame to take home. A liability waiver is required to participate (see Mrs. Gallagher).Please apply sunscreen/insect repellent at home.

Nutfield Flower Garden - $30

This year we will plant one of the flower gardens in front of the church. We will plant seeds and started plants. Over the summer we will water and weed the garden. Students will be working out side, wear play clothes, please apply sunscreen/insect repellent at home.

Hike to Humphrey Playground - $30

Cooking for Kids- $35 (includes lunch)

cookingDate: June 18th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 20 children
Time: 9 AM - 1 PM

Children will Learn about good nutrition. Choose a menu. Prepare the food. Cook the food. Eat the meal they prepared for lunch.

Bowling - $35

bowlingDate: June 28th
Ages: 3-6, maximum 15 children
Time: 9-1

Come enjoy the game of bowling. The children will make their own bowling game to take home. We will practice with the home made games. We will then go to Park Place Bowling Lanes, have lunch, bowl, and watch others bowling. Children will be picked up at Park Place Bowling Lanes on Rt. 28 in Windham.
